Recipe for Frying Largemouth Bass

So, you’re fishing a tournament and making a long run back, you get up to the ramp, open your livewell and you see it. Your livewell is plagued with dead fish, not only do you have the embarrassment of coming in with dead fish but you’ve also got the problem of what to do with your favorite sport fish.

When you get home with your once proud largemouth the first thing you need to do is fillet the fish, luckily largemouth are some of the easiest fish to fillet and you tend to get a ton of meat off of each fish.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of Bisquick
  • 1/2 Cup of Drake’s Mix
  • 1/2 Cup of Beer
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper

 Steps

  1. Pat dry fish with paper towel
  2. Mix ingredients in medium bowl until a medium batter
  3. Heat vegetable oil in pan to 325 (enough to submerge fish)
  4. Fry fish for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown

That’s all there is to it! Fish is one of the easiest things to fry up on short notice which makes it easier to forget that you were ever embarrassed about bringing that squeeker largemouth home!
