Products for 2011: Berkley Baits Edition

2010 surely was a great year for the industry, but we think 2011 can top it and so does Berkley. With the reintroduction of the Flicker Shad, a gaggle of Gulp! and Gulp! Alive products, oh and PowerBait products as well. Yeah, it’s going to be a good year.

Flicker Shad

For those of us who are craving some crankbait fishing Berkley is bringing back the Flicker Shad. This bait is designed to target Walleye and Bass and utilizes an internal weight system to transfer the weight for precise casts and unique swimming action. This will be your bait if you want to get every last suspended fish out on the water, and don’t worry about losing them because the 2″ model comes with size 8 Mustad Ultra Point hooks and the 2.75″ model comes with size 6 Mustad Ultra Point hooks. This crank will get down to around 10 feet with the 2″ version and about 12 feet with the 2.75″ version.

The Flicker Shad is available in 12 colors and 2 sizes, but really, who needs anything other than Firetiger. With a price around $4.50 you can’t go wrong.

Gulp! Hellgrammite

Smallmouth anglers rejoice! We now have hellgrammite that won’t take us hours upon hours of tedious searching to find, unless these get sold out at your local tackle store. Every angler has tried to use live larva but it’s just so hard to find the right hook and keep them alive while you are trying to fish with them, and not to mention they are usually only 1″ long. Thanks to the guys over at Berkley we now have a massive 3″ hellgrammite that is easily accessible and easy to take care of. As an added bonus Berkley even soaks this stuff in the ever-so tempting Gulp! juice to further ensure the smallmouth go bananas.

These hellgrammite comes in a pack of 12 for a cool $5.99 and will be available in 6 colors.

PowerBait Crazy Legs Chigger Craw

The chigger craw is a favorite for many anglers but even at that Berkley decided to through the awesome Crazy Legs on there. This Chigger Craw comes in a 3″ size and has the Crazy Legs that is so famous on the lizard. The 4″ version won the Classic, but the 3″ being the finesse version, you have a higher chance to catch more fish, at least in our experiences. This craw is available in 10 colors and will feature high-action appendages, but really, you can’t stop at just the 3″ Chigger Craw.

The 3″ Crazy Legs Chigger Craw is available for around $4 for 6 craws soaked In the sumptuous PowerBait flavoring.

There is a lot more coming out from Berkley Baits in the 2011 season, but really, there is no way we could cover all of it. Head on over the http://www.berkley-fishing.com/ website and check the stuff out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
