What Mike ‘Ike’ Iaconelli Used on the Delaware River

We knew the questions would come… what was Ike using? Here’s the list you need when the bite is tough and you need to out-fish the best in the world!

Mike Iaconelli“I have two baits that have been my staples.”

4” Berkley Havoc Pit Boss (Okeechobee Craw)
3/8 oz. Tungsten weight (pegged with a bobber stop)
5/0 VMC Straight Shank Flipping Hook

“The Pit Boss has absolutely been a key bait for me this week.”

“My second bait is a small profile jig, but the trailer is the key with this bait as it keeps fish holding on longer – I’m using a green pumpkin Chigger Chunk.”
½ oz. homemade finesse jig
Chigger Chunk (Green Pumpkin)

Ike on his line:

20 lb. test Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon
“A few of the areas that I’m fishing are so nasty. Each day, there have been three or four fish that I’m amazed I got out of the cover and in the boat. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had fish hung up in cover and eventually worked them out. My line has been frayed, but it’s held every time and hasn’t broken. It’s really impressive.”
