How To Make Your Own Lake Maps with Navionics – Part 1: Uploading Your Logs

Making your own maps in today’s day and age should be simple, it shouldn’t take more than an hour or so. Navionics cracked the code with the Platinum Plus and their Sonar Charts. Simply popping in your SD card and hitting upload is all you need to do to get them on their way to be converted!

If you’re out on the water why not make your own maps to better fish your favorite lake next time? Navionics gives you the ability to conveniently convert your sonar logs into real, usable lake maps. Very rarely will I want to waste a full day scanning a lake, especially if its one I rarely fish  but if I happen to be out pre-fishing for an event it never hurts to have a premium map for next time.

In my Humminbird I tend to run a 32gb SD card that is constantly set to record so that I never have to worry about if it will get filled while on the water, I also make the point of backing up all sonar logs as soon as I get home, just incase.

So, you’re home and ready to convert your logs; just sit on down at the ol’ computer, pop the SD card in, hit upload and the waiting game begins! Simple as that
