Bad Poncho Staffers Make a Move in Michigan’s BFL

The Michigan BFL on the Detroit River proved to be a good one for the Bad Poncho Outdoors and Bass Angler Magazine anglers with both anglers moving up the standings. Tony Mitchell moved up 30 places putting him in the top third of the field, and Jon Witt moved into the top spot with a solid 5th place finish. Jon is starting to really make a name for himself with ten top-ten finishes in this division.

Jon Witt told us”We caught our fish on Erie,  the boater had 22 pounds in the first 18 minutes.” Witt only boated one on that particular spot. They upgraded all day until they had enough for the boater to win the event and for Jon to place 5th giving him the points to take the lead for the season thus far. Most of their fish were caught on 3\8oz tubes in about 30 feet of water.

Jon was quick to give praise to his boater Heath Wagner for his ability to find fish and to make them bite. Wagner shared his fish enough for Jon to weigh–in 17-12 and maybe learn a trick or two. Wagner stated having no boats around for miles allowed him to catch 35 fish for 23-8.

It is only a couple week away from the next event on St Clair that should be another great event!
