2012 Forrest Wood Cup – Lake Lanier – Final Results

The final results are out for the Forrest Wood Cup and the victor is Jacob Wheeler with a very solid margin of victory. Wheeler was able to secure his cup with 60-01, a weight to be proud of on Lake Lanier. Scott Canterbury was just over 7lbs behind with 52-12, Brian Thrift trailed him with 52-04.

It seems most anglers preferred the method of drop shotting but Jacob Wheeler keyed most of his bites on a Rapala X-Rap Prop, a Trigger-X Goo Bug and a Flippin’ Tube. Largemouth played a major role in this event though anglers used spots round out their bags if needed. Wheeler was the only angler to break 20lbs in a day, which also broke his single-day record, which set him up for victory from the start.

Congrats to Jacob Wheeler! This is a big moment for him and I’m sure that trophy will be in the passenger seat of his truck on the way home!
